Chattertots or Little Talkers is a series of workshops for parents and carers. These workshops are to help you support your child's early language skills.

This workshop will be held in children centres across Bedfordshire and Luton. 

Virtual Chattertots sessions are also available in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire for families who cannot access a centre.

Aim of this workshop

  • You feel confident helping your child at home with their early language skills

Entry criteria

This workshop is for families who have a child:

  • between 18 months and 3 years old
  • who wants to involve you in their play
  • who may need support for listening, understanding and spoken language

Helping your toddler to talk

Talking can be intimidating for babies and toddlers. It can take some toddlers a little longer to speak. Every child is different and may start speaking earlier or later than others.

The importance of play

Some of the skills learned whilst your child is playing will turn into social skills. When you play with your child, you are strengthening your relationship with them and helping them learn social skills.
